Sending love to Sendong victims

Posted on

Just days before Christmas, a massive flash flood caused by Typhoon Sendong took Cagayan de Oro and Iligan City by surprise on the night of December 16, 2011 – leaving more that 1,000 dead and hundreds more missing. It is said to be the deadliest typhoon to hit the Philippines in three years, surpassing Ondoy and Pepeng, which killed 464 and 465 people.

The beautiful province (CDO) famous for its White water rapids, in a glimpse, turned into a mud course full of destroyed homes and human remains. The effect was so grave; words aren’t enough to start describing what really happened.

No water rafting for now.

In response to this tragic event, Aspac/Law made a quick move to send much needed help to our brothers and sisters in these typhoon-stricken areas.

Instead of sending-out Christmas tokens, Aspac/Law thanked it’s clients by donating relief goods and cash through The Philippine National Red Cross and LBC Foundation, on their behalf.

A special & heartfelt Christmas eCard was sent to acknowledge their support and partnership in getting this noble task done.

We continuously pray for the complete restoration of CDO and Iligan and hope that our simple gesture made hope shine a little brighter over there this Christmas.
